Feminist imagination goes beyond questioning the shape of the world around us. It pushes us to think about how the world ought to be. This is what the radical feminist thinker, Angela Davis, suggests in her theory of abolitionist imagination. She elaborates, "the abolitionist imagination delinks us from that which is,” meaning that imagination frees us from the status quo. Meanwhile, feminist scholar Sara Ahmed suggests that imagining a feminist future requires us not only to focus on the world's catastrophes, but also to think critically about how to resist and alter these catastrophes. In other words, future feminist practice necessitates a fundamental connection between theory and praxis.
