This article examines Kooz Queer Film Festival in Haifa as part of a growing Arab queer cinema scene in Palestine, Lebanon and Tunisia, arguing that queer cinema is not about representing non-normative identities only, but should delve into challenging systems of oppression. This festival is an internal intervention in Palestinian society, pushing difficult conversations on sexuality and gender, while resisting Israeli pinkwashing representations of queer Palestinians.
