This analysis aligns with the organization’s pillars by exposing how colonial powers imposed
heteronormative standards and exploited sexuality to maintain hierarchies, addressing the need
to confront hegemonies. It challenges monolithic cultural narratives, contributing to decolonizing
knowledge and fostering South Feminist activism. By critiquing the role of liberal capitalism and
political manipulation in oppressing sexual minorities, it reimagines development paradigms and
advocates for strategies of resistance against using sexuality as a tool of exploitation. Additionally,
it highlights the neocolonial dynamics of aid conditionality, supporting the reclamation of South-
South internationalism.
