Bluetooth Queens

This essay is a personal reflection on growing up working-class, tribe-belonging and transgender in Saudi Arabia, and discovering queer identity through early digital technologies. The author shows how Bluetooth enabled queer images, sexuality and gender nonconformity to circulate beyond state censorship, offering possibilities for recognition and belonging despite surveillance, stigma and repression.
